From The Night - Stars.

I’m declaring it now. This is a hit!

Canadian band, Stars are back with the first single from their forthcoming eighth album, “No One Is Lost”. Stars have been around since the turn of the century (isn’t that a funny term to use in modern times?). They’re one of the most celebrated Canadian indie bands of the past 15 years and have been twice nominated for Juno awards (Canadian Grammys) and twice nominated for Polaris awards (Canadian Mercury Prize). Various of its members sometimes play with fellow Canadian band, Broken Social Scene. Anyway, now that you’re caught up, listen to the song. It’s neo-disco (I think I made that genre up) and it’s super melodic. It’s fantastic!

I took a shot at these as well.

It’s Friday, so here are some Night Lights.

A ‘Ring of Fire’ solar eclipse is a rare phenomenon that occurs when the moon’s orbit is at its apogee: the part of its orbit farthest away from the Earth. Because the moon is so far away, it seems smaller than normal to the human eye. The result is that the moon doesn’t entirely block out our view of the sun, but leaves an “annulus,” or ring of sunlight glowing around it. Hence the term  “annular” eclipse rather than a “total” eclipse.

my god that last one!!!

Fire is the element of power. The people of the Fire Nation have desire and will, and the energy and drive to achieve what they want.

Earth is the element of substance. The people of the Earth Kingdom are diverse and strong. They are persistent and enduring.

Air is the element of freedom. The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly concerns, and they found peace and freedom.

Water is the element of change. The people of the Water Tribes are capable of adapting to many things. They have a sense of community and love that holds them together through anything.
